Sure you can download free apps and even free video for your iPod Touch. But, how do you get free movies for it? There are actually many ways to get free movies on your iPod Touch – it’s really just a matter of finding the right movie, in the right format.
The first thing you have to do is get your hands on the movie you want. This means renting it, borrowing it from a friend, or downloading it from a free site such as Limewire. When using free sites however, there are a few things to keep in mind. The first of course, is that it’s most likely illegal. Most of the content available on free sites is copyrighted, and the people downloading it have no right too. We understand that this doesn’t stop many, but please proceed with caution and understand that you are most likely taking part in something unlawful.
The second thing to keep in mind when using a free site is that the files you find there will all be in different formats, and your iPod Touch will need them to be in Quick Time format. To make sure they are, begin downloading your movie. Before it’s finished downloading (at any time), preview the file. It will come up and then you can tell which format it is. If the movie comes up in Quick Time, you know that the file is in the right format. If not, you’ll need to find the same movie in the right format.
Lastly, remember that any file you download from an unknown source (which all the users on Limewire will most likely be to you) may contain viruses so make sure that you have good virus protection on your computer before you download anything.
If you choose to go the completely legal route and want to get your hands on a movie and then put it on your iPod Touch, you just need to copy the movie to your computer, and then move it into your iTunes library. The next time you sync, it’ll be on your iPod Touch!
