Apple iPhone Embedded SIM Plans Abandoned

The Apple iPhone is one of the most successful mobile phones of all time and there are millions of people all around the world that own one of the phones. Apple is always striving to make the phone better however and one of their latest ideas for the iPhone device was to include an embedded SIM card in the phone that would not be removable. This SIM card would allow the user of the phone to use the iPhone device on any mobile network of their choice, however, there are now rumours that the palns to do this have been cut by Apple.

Although it might sound like a good idea for the consumers of the phone, the mobile phone operators were not best pleased about the idea. Currently, the mobile phone operators buy the iPhone devices form Apple at around £375 each and they make their money by offering the phones on their 24 month or 18 month contracts. Apple’s plans for the embedded SIM would mean that the middle man would be cut out of the equation and this is something that the mobile phone operators were not happy about at all, as it would mean that they did not make as much money.

Although Apple is said to have abandoned the plans for the embedded SIM with the iPhone, this is a system that they are expected to implement into the next generation of the iPad device.
