How to Transfer Photos from PC to iPod Touch

Everyone has their own favorite feature of the iPod Touch. Mine personally is the music feature (or rather, all the music features), but for many it’s the ability to transfer your pictures from your computer to your iPod Touch. This feature is very easy to use and you can do it in just a few quick steps.

First, make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. Then connect your iPod Touch to your computer through the USB cord. When iTunes automatically opens, click on your iPod Touch under “Devices” in the left-hand side of the iTunes menu. Under “Devices” there will be a tab at the top that says “Photos.” Click on this “Photos” tab.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll see a whole list of options there for you. Firstly, and probably most importantly, it will give you a drop-down box. Above the box it will say, “Sync from” and then from this drop-down you will be able to choose what folder on your PC that you want pictures transferred from. You should also be given a few other preference options for your pictures. Then just click “Apply.” The next time you sync your iPod with your computer, your pictures should be on your iPod Touch.

Once they are, just tap the Photos icon that appears on the bottom of the iPod Touch. Then you can view your photos in a number of ways. You can either flip through them, using the tip of your finger, or you can press the play button at the bottom of the screen when you pull up a photo. This will turn all of your pictures into a slideshow, shown in a cube-style, with each side displaying a new picture. Any way you choose to view your photos now, they’ll all be on your iPod Touch whenever you want to!

  1. Same here. I followed instructions but no photos will appear in the photo/albums. Instead, they (at least the thumbnails) go into the wallpaper selection area! All 53 of them. I’ve researched this and tried it again and again but same results. Frustrating!

  2. just tried this…
When opening the photo-app it tells me there are no pictures to show.
I selected a folder and iTunes synced the 12 pictures but I still can’t see them.
    Any sugestions?

  3. you can make a folder on your computer, then add your photos into this folder, open iTunes and set the photo destination to the photo folder. And then sync your iPod with iTunes, that’s all.
