Apple has been released the iOS 5 software for iPhone which have around 200 new features, all of which look pretty nice and neat. If you are looking to upgrade to this iOS 5 software, Apple have made it pretty simple for you and all you have to do are a few small things.
The first thing that you should do if you are planning to upgrade your iPhone os to iOS 5 is to actually check whether or not your device is supported by the new software. This is absolutely paramount as only newer versions of the iPhone and the iPod Touch are supported meaning that the iPhone 3G and older iPod Touch devices will not be able to have access to the new software.
Once you have done this, you will need to backup your phone by plugging it into the iTunes software. This is paramount to ensure that you still have all your contacts, apps and music etc if anything goes wrong. Once you have done this, click ‘Check for update’ within your iPhone on the iTunes list of devices. It should find iOS5 and you can download it from there.
Once it has downloaded, it should start running the update automatically and all you will have to do is to follow a few on screen instructions and you will be ready to go. The download can take a while depending on your internet connection so be patient.
