How to hide apps on iPhone with App Library
It’s a free app from Apple that allows you to hide specific apps from your home screen, so you can access them without having to close the ones you want to keep open.
- To get started, you need to go into the Settings app and tap on General > Usage > Manage Apps.
- This will bring up the list of apps you have installed on your phone, and you can then select the apps you no longer want to see on your home screen.
- The apps that are selected will be removed from your home screen.
- You’ll still be able to launch them from the App Store or other apps, but they won’t show up when you scroll down to view your home screen.
How to hide apps on iPhone with Private Folder
You can set up a special folder within your iPhone’s file system that will prevent any apps that you’ve installed from being seen on the home screen. The reason this is possible is that the iPhone stores apps inside its “Applications” folder. The Applications folder has a special place in the iPhone’s file system where it stores apps that are not meant to be visible on the home screen. You can think of it as the special spot where apps go to die.
This special spot in the iPhone’s file system is called the “private application container.” To create and use a private application container, you’ll need a Mac or Windows PC. The steps below explain how to create and use a private application container in Windows, but you can follow the same process for a Mac.
- Step 1: Create a new folder on your desktop.
Navigate to your desktop. Right-click on the desktop and choose New > Folder. Name the new folder “privateapps.”
- Step 2: Open the Applications folder on your computer.
Now that you’ve created the privateapps folder on your desktop, open the Applications folder. You can do this by pressing CMD+OPT+A on a Mac or clicking the Apps folder in the Finder window on Windows.
- Step 3: Move apps into the privateapps folder.
The next step is to copy your apps into the privateapps folder. To do so, navigate to your Applications folder and select all the apps that you’d like to hide. Now, drag and drop them into the privateapps folder on your desktop. The apps will be copied into the folder, and you’ll no longer see them when you look at your iPhone’s home screen.
- Step 4: Delete the apps from the iPhone’s home screen.
Once you’ve moved all of your apps into the privateapps folder on your desktop, you need to delete them from your iPhone. This is done by navigating to your iPhone’s Home screen. Open up the App Store, then choose My Apps > Your Apps > (app name). Delete the app.
If you want to hide apps on your iPhone, you need to learn how to use the app library. There are many apps in the app store, so it’s important to know what you can and can’t install. Using the app library will help you find all of your favorite apps and delete the ones you don’t want to see. Remember, the app library is also a great way to save space on your iPhone.
