A very cool thing about the iPod Touch is that it comes with an email feature so that you can set up your email account and have it directly accessible on your iPod Touch. But first, you have to set it up. The steps are very simple and soon, you’ll have all your important messages at your fingertips! Here’s how you can set up your email on your iPod Touch.
Start by choosing the “Mail” icon on the iPod Touch’s Home screen. The next thing you’ll need to do is to choose the type of email account that you want to choose. You’ll have a listing of “Microsoft Exchange”, “MobileMe”, “GMail”, and others. If you have another type of email address that you would like to use, such as a Hotmail account, then you will need to choose “Other” and be able to enter in specific information pertaining to that account. You will need to fill in other information as well including contact and calendar information.
On the next screen you’ll be asked other information about the host’s name of the Incoming Mail Server and the STMP of the Outgoing Mail Server. Once all of this information has been entered, you can then tap “Save” to keep all the information on your iPod or iPhone. After this you’ll be taken to the Mail Settings and you’ll need to do some management and organizations with your folders and such. But your email account has been created and is ready to use.
You’ll also have lots of features that you’ll want to flip through and turn on or off. Things such as how long you want deleted messages kept for and how you want your notifications displayed. Other than that, you’ll be ready to check your email whenever you need to and never miss out on an important message again!

Hi Clyde,
It sounds like you’ve already got an email account set up in there. Try to look at the settings in your Mail, look for the account that’s currently in there and see if it’s the one you want.If not, you can delete it and then continue to add whatever email you would like.
I pressed the mail icon per your directions but I didn’t get the choice of emails per your directions. I got “in box”, “sent items”, “trash”, “drafts” etc. What do I do?
