Fifth of Apple iPad Owners Expected to Upgrade

Last week, Apple announced the release of their fantastic iPad 2 device which follows the success of the original iPad. Apple launched the original iPad around a year ago and since then; the product has been a huge success. Apple has completely revolutionised the world of computing and m any other companies have since tried to copy the iPad. Now, with the release of the iPad 2, it is thought that around a fifth of everyone that owns an original iPad will actually upgrade.

There have been a huge 15 million original iPad’s sold since Apple launched the product a year ago and it is now thought that between 15 and 20 percent of these people will upgrade to the latest offering from Apple over the next 12 months. This could mean that of the people that already own an Apple iPad, Apple could see up to 3 million of these upgrading to their new device.

Apple officially launched the iPad 2 device today in the United States and it is thought that the sales of the new iPad will get off to a great start over the weekend with around half a million expected to be sold. It is expected that over the next 12 months, Apple will sell an astonishing 28 million of these devices. Despite these huge amounts of sales, Apple is still expected to lose some of their market share over the next year.
