If you have kids, there’s a good chance that you have at least one app for your kids to play with on your iPhone or your iPod Touch. They’re great to hand over to your kids when you’re waiting in line at the grocery store, or when you’re in the waiting room at the doctor’s office. So the next time you’re looking for an app that your preschooler would enjoy, why not download the Monkey Preschool Lunchbox app for the iPhone. This app is a lot of fun with cute animations, and is educational in many different ways for your child too. The app is designed for kids 2 -5 and during gameplay, a lovable animated monkey will guide your child through six different games using fruit, and some lunchboxes.

The first game uses colours. The monkey will ask your child to tap on the fruit that is “red” and then tell your child whether they’re right or wrong. The second game uses counting. The monkey will tell the child to count “x” amount of fruit. The child will count them out, again by tapping the screen, and the fruit will subsequently land in the lunchbox. A game of letters is also used, with the child being asked to tap on the fruit that begins with a certain letter; and the matching game will also cover each fruit up with one card. This game works like the game Memory and the child will flip over the cards, looking to match the fruit. And every child loves puzzles. The last game includes a puzzle for the child to put together, and to collect coins when the puzzle is complete.

This app is a great app for kids and there are so many different games all within the app that it’s sure to keep children entertained for however long you need them to be. The app is unfortunately, not free. But at only $0.99, it’s a great investment in (quiet) time well spent! Download it here.
