Apple’s Steve Jobs Launches’ iPad 2

It has been rumoured for a while that the iPad 2 will be released by Apple at some point this year and yesterday, Apple made that rumour come true. During their press event in San Francisco yesterday, Apple’s CEO; Steve Jobs unveiled the next generation of the iPad and it has some pretty nice new features.

As was previously thought, Apple have fitted the iPad with two cameras, one on the front and one on the rear to allow their customers to video call each other using the FaceTime system. The great thing about this is that you can now video call another iPad, an iPhone or even a Mac using an iPad. Another fantastic feature of the new iPad 2 is that it has a much faster processor. At the press event yesterday, Apple claimed that it can be up to nine times faster than the previous iPad, offering a lot more for the developers of apps and so forth.

As well as these features, Apple also added some new apps to their iPad including Garageband and even iMovie. Both of these look absolutely fantastic and offering amazing video editing and music production opportunities. The iPad is also around a third thinner than the old model which is extremely incredible considering how thin the first iPad was anyway. Apple have also developed fantastically innovative screen protectors for the iPad 2 of which you can view a video of on their website.
