It’s worth adding that if your iPod refuses to go into Disk Mode and you hear a noticeable clicking sound the problem might just be corrosion on the HDD cable and will need cleaned periodically.

I have a 32gb itouch, not even a year old. Tried to install the 3.0 update, and now the thing freezes everytime I turn it on and just shows the apple logo. When i tried to restore it (I tried several times) then it just freezes with a restore bar below the logo, about 1/3 of the way filled in. Can’t get it to do anything else. Yeah, umm…i dropped my ipod in the sink while brushing my teeth and the the screen is white when i turn it on but the screen image slowly starts to appear after about 5 seconds. all the buttons work, but is my screen damaged?
i downloaded about 15 apps onto my 32gig itouch a few days ago and now the screen is all zoomed in and huge. it still runs just fine but its a hassle to navigate thru it and get to my apss and see everything. could it be a virus from an app i downloaded? if not, how do i fix it?

My grand daughter ran her Touch through a wash machine. fixed by placing it on the dash of my
car for several hours in the sun….got very hot…but it works now…like new.

this sounds like you have obviously broken the screen, but you have also broken the lcd light and fluid screens inside this means you will just see black or a load of multi colours.
note this will be a very exspensive repair for you people !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
however if you let me know i mite be able to fix these screens for you for £50 including p+p

ok so i just got an ipod touch 16 gb, the problem is that its stuck on the connect to itunes thing and when i plug it in, it doesnt connect to itunes or my computor. ive tried going into recovery mode, but it doesnt do it.ive tried everything. restarting, different computors, different cables, etc. I dont know what the problem is and i even called apple and they cant help me.
