Accessories and add-ons for the iPhone and iPad have been around since the devices got popular but for a variety of reasons Apple did little to support these companies. Apple is now apparently planning to change all of that by either helping users find the additional accessories they want or by helping them find the additional apps they need to use the accessories.
The information once again comes from a patent filed by Apple and while the details are not 100% given the system seems reasonable. Apple is hoping to help developers through this system and if it works it will definitely help them and Apple as well. The more people that buy iPhone and iPad accessories the better everyone does so it is in Apple’s best interest to help raise the bar when it comes to accessories and app purchases.
