What are the Best Banking Apps for the iPhone?

What’s better than online banking? Being able to do all of that banking on the go, no matter where you go, and be able to do it all in the palm of your hand. Many banking customers are starting to wonder if their bank has a banking app for the iPhone, and whether or not one banking app is better than the other. Many major banks are starting to offer banking apps, and whether or not you like the app your bank offers will all be dependent on how you like your apps to look, and how user-friendly you find them. Regardless of those factors, all banking apps for the iPhone will let you see the balance in your accounts, pay bills, make transfers, and do anything else you’d expect from online banking.

Some of the major banks in the United States that have their own app are: Chase, CitiBank, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo. In Canada, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), and TD Canada Trust are just two of the banks that are currently in development with an app, or already have one out. CIBC was actually the first Canadian bank to get its own app. So, are there differences?

Well, you’re dealing with different companies and so yes, there will be some differences. The Chase app has a very sleek and smooth design, while the Bank of America has a more no-nonsense approach to it. And while it will be up to you whether or not your bank’s app is jazzy enough for you, it most likely won’t affect who you bank with. Unless, that is of course, your bank doesn’t offer an app at all.

And that seems to be what it’s coming down to for customers today. Not necessarily whether or not they’ll change banks, due to the look and feel of an app, but that if their bank doesn’t truly make it easy to bank anywhere, anytime…well, in today’s day and age, that could be a deal-breaker.
