Christmas Tree Maker Free for iPod Touch

It’s that time of year again! The time when eggnog is flowing, cider is mulling, and cookies are baking! And of course, that beautiful tree twinkles at you as you do it all! But, when you’re not at home, or if your tree is decorated, but you’re still in the tinsel-stringing mood, there is the Christmas Tree Maker app that comes free for the iPod Touch.

It really couldn’t be simpler. Open up the app and first, choose a background (whether you want your tree to be inside or outside is up to you!) This is really easy to do, all you have to do is tap on the “Backgrounds” tab at the top. If you’ve chosen a background that’s inside, you’ll then need to choose a tree skirt. This can also be chosen by choosing “Tree Skirts.” Then choose your tree, then your lights, balls, garland, and whatever else you want. Sound simple?

Well, the app isn’t extremely easy to use and we found that it took some tinkering before you could actually decorate your tree the way you like. For instance, when you put balls on your tree, they all show up in the same spot. You then need to move them around with your finger. And those lights? You can choose them, but it’s not until you swipe your finger across your tree wherever you want them placed that you’ll see them actually show up on your tree. Not huge contentions, but still, it does take some figuring out on your own.

This app does come with some contingencies too. Firstly, it is free, but that doesn’t mean that you’ll get everything you want for your tree. There are many locked items that you can only have access to if you buy them separately,or go to “Unlock All Items,” which will unlock everything for you, for the price of $4.99. Or, you can just be happy with what you’ll get for free – which we think is enough for a silly Christmas tree decorating app. You can download it here.
