Apple has recently introduced a very superior class of Ipod touch. For any electronic product, a fillip to its sale in the competitive market comes from the way it is promoted to the public. It is not uncommon for biggies such as Apple to feature a very popular album or song as a back ground sequence but it is really uncommon that a little band’s song as the back ground score. Probably the company takes pleasure in tugging smaller bands into their ads. This should have put that song at pinnacle. So which band is it???
The band christened THE ASTEROIDS GALAXY TOUR mainly comprises of two people Lars Iversen and Mette Lindberg who hail from Copenhagen. But the ad is more about gaming in the IPOD. What an irony! The band’s first full length album is yet to be released and is expected in the early months of the year 2009. The ad was recently aired in the media and is now amidst talks in the media and among the youngsters.

The band’s name and the product is an exact fit. The band’s name may signify an asteroid touring around a galaxy which is as interesting as playing a video game. Thus the band serves its purpose of being behind such a product. It seems the ad was assigned as a student project according to The New York Times.
Anyway Apple has a reason to be happy. The reach of the ad has been absolutely fabulous. The song from ipod touch commercial has been welcomed widely by people but only for the irony in the lyrics and the promoted purpose of the IPOD.
