I decided to do some searching today for free music ringtones for my new iphone. After viewing about a handful of sites I came across brinked.com which is a nice and clean ringtone community where users can create and share their tones. What I really liked about the site is the ability to create my own ringtone from any youtube video URL.
I just pasted the youtube URL into the creation utility and it downloaded the video and extracted the audio from it where I was then taken to an ajax like interface to customize the audio to fit my needs. This utility also supports fading in and out of the audio as well as allows for mp3, ogg and wav formats. The only negative is you are limited to a 30 second clip of the audio which should be more than enough. As far as free ringtones goes I have found a home in brinked.

I just found a great place to get iPhone Ringtones for your phone, this Ringtone site has many thousands available to send directly to your iPhone as they can send via the Cingular/AT&T Carrier service. I just grabbed Lollipop featuring Lil Wayne as well as Rockstar by Nickelback.
You will need to visit the Cingular Ringtones page to fetch the tones for your iPhone. They also have a mobile blog, although it looks ordinary (if you are reading this guys you need a new theme) which has some good info in it and i got caught up there for a while reading.
Also a bit of news on the 3G iPhone front, a few days after it’s release the iTunes App Store has had over 10 Million downloads which was confirmed by Apple Inc. Now to put this in to perspective, Firefox received the Guiness World Record for just over 8 Million downloads of a “single” piece of software in 24 hours for Firefox 3 and Apple received 10 Million downloads in just a couple of days. Although it wasn’t for a single piece of software and in a couple of days rather then one, it shows the sheer volume of downloads. Definitely a slam dunk for Apple. There’s 800 pieces of software that can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store, and over 200 are free.
As for the number of 3G iPhone units sold? There was 1 Million 3G iPhone’s sold by last Sunday, when you look at the $199 RRP we are talking a cool $200 Million.. Not a bad day at the office what do you think?
