Apple TV Sells More than 2 Million Units

The Apple TV is a relatively new product in the Apple range of products and when it was first released, it was not the big hit that Apple had hoped. This caused Apple to take a look at the device last year and in September, they released a completely new version of the Apple TV that they thought would tempt people a lot more to purchase it. It seems that according to the more recent figures, this has worked for Apple as the Apple TV is said to have sold more than 2 million units since the new version was released.

It is said that the Apple TV actually managed to sell more than 1 million units in the first 3 months of the release and now, around 7 months after the release, reports suggest that the unit sales are more than double this. The figures come from an analyst at Conchord Studies who came to the conclusion by compiling certain numbers from Apple supplies and other sources.

The Apple TV currently sells for just £99 which is less than half the price of the original Apple TV when it was launched a couple of years ago. The device allows users to stream content from their computer or other iOS devices to the Apple TV and vice versa and Apple is thought to be planning to integrate the technology into an actual TV later on this year.
