Apple to Release iPad 2 on March 2

There have been a lot of rumours over the last few months in regards to the iPad 2 from Apple and now, it seems as though there has actually been a date set by Apple for the release of the device. Following the rumours earlier this week, Apple has announced a media event on the 2nd of March 2011 in which they are expected by many to unveil the next generation of the iPad device.

The media event that is set to be hosted by Apple on this day will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at around 10am on March 2nd 2011. Apple has not actually given any real hints as to what the event will be about except for one picture which has led many to believe that it will contain the unveiling of the iPad 2 device.

The image that has been released by Apple features the date of March 2nd on their Calendar app icon with it pealing back to reveal what looks like the iPad device. At the bottom of the image it reads “Come see what 2011 will be the year of”. Many have taken this as almost proof that the iPad will be launched on this day although it could be for a different product including a new version of the iOS software. We will just have to wait and see what Apple has in store.
